In-House Mobile Opticians are family-owned independent home visiting opticians based in Warrington who provide home eye tests to patients across the North West.
We have been providing an outstanding mobile optical service to thousands of patients since 2007 and have multiple 5-star reviews on the NHS Choices website, Yell.com, Google and on Facebook as well numerous fantastic reviews on our website.
Our motto is a simple one: TO TREAT OUR PATIENTS AS WE WOULD EXPECT OUR FAMILY MEMBERS TO BE TREATED i.e. with respect and dignity.
The partners, Mr Parm Mund BSc(Hons)MCOptom and Mrs Sharon Mund BSc(Hons)MCOptom have over 45 years combined experience in examining patients. Parm has also taught students at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) optometry department in the practical principles of the eye examination.
We specialise in providing FREE HOME NHS EYE EXAMINATIONS to those patients who cannot visit a High Street optician without assistance and we can also supply FREE SPECTACLES to those on certain benefits. Eye examinations are usually available within 1 week and spectacles are delivered within 1-2 weeks.
We carry a large collection of frames ranging from budget to designer and can provide all lens options including varifocals, thin and light lenses, sun reacting lenses etc.
We also provide a free engraving service on the “arms” of the glasses which shows the patient’s name, date and intended use which the care homes that we visit find extremely useful.
We have extensive experience in working with elderly patients including those with dementia, and with younger patients who have mental health problems and learning difficulties. We fully understand the patient and sympathetic approach that is required when carrying out eye tests and never rush what we do. If an eye test cannot be carried out in the usual way we can use picture tests, letter matching tests and other methods to obtain the spectacle prescription.
Our aims are simple and based on all too forgotten principles. We aim to:
- Put the patient first.
- Provide care and customer service that is second to none.
- Treat our patients as we would want our own family members to be treated i.e. with respect and dignity.
- Be true to our word and never let anyone down.
- Provide a personal, friendly, ethical and efficient service.
Numerous care homes currently use our service for the above reasons and we routinely receive referrals from GP surgeries, district nurses, social services, the Warrington Fall's Team, the Halton Fall’s Team, Warrington Hospital Stroke Unit, other opticians as well as from patient recommendations.
We are registered with the General Optical Council, College of Optometrists, all relevant NHS CCG’s (Clinical Commissioning Groups) and our opticians are DBS checked and cleared.
